Blepharoplasty
Description
This is procedure is highly-requested; its purpose is to eliminate excess skin from eyelids. It can be done under sedation (with local anesthesia), as it is not very painful, but general anesthesia is recommended.
According to the patient and the case, if required, the “bags” (periocular fat) are removed, either from the upper or lower eyelid, or from both. These cases do require general anesthesia. This is an outpatient procedure; that is, it does not require hospitalization.
The recovery period is from 8 to 10 days, while the inflammation disappears from the eyelid (periorbital) area and the period of inactivity for physical exercise and effort is 8 to 15 days.
